A Weeknight Framework, Not a Recipe

Some nights you do not want a recipe. You want a shape you can pour whatever you have into. Here is ours.

Pick a base (grain or noodle), a protein or bean, and two vegetables. Cook each simply, then bring them together with a sauce built from pantry staples.

The sauce is the trick: something fatty, something acidic, something salty, and something with a little heat. Whisk, taste, adjust, and pour.

Once you see dinner as a framework instead of a formula, the fridge stops being a puzzle and starts being an invitation.
